Burgan Bank concluded its sponsorship of the inaugural International Padel Tournament (Men’s and Women’s categories), organized by the Kuwait Scouts Association in collaboration with the Arab Scout Organization. The tournament, held from October 6 to 8, 2024 at the Ocean Padel Academy courts, saw high-level participation from Gulf and Arab countries.
Burgan Bank's sponsorship of this tournament reflects its commitment to social responsibility, and its efforts to support the sports sector and nurture Kuwaiti talent. It also highlights the Bank’s dedication to fostering a sports culture within Kuwaiti society and contributing to positive change in the country.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Ms. Hessa Hussain Al-Najadah, Senior Manager – Corporate and CSR Communications at Burgan Bank, said: 'We were delighted to partner with the Kuwait Scouts Association and sponsor the inaugural International Padel Tournament. This distinguished sporting event, which aimed to instill a sports culture in Kuwait and support young athletes, adds to the range of sports activities and events that Burgan Bank supports as part of its comprehensive social responsibility and sustainability program. We were pleased to witness the participation of numerous professional and amateur players in both the men’s and women’s categories, all of whom displayed outstanding performance and exceptional sportsmanship. The first-place winners among the men were Ahmed Khamis and Danny Namour, while second place went to Ammar Al-Tamimi and Hamoud Al-Janeel. Among the women, first place was awarded to Joud Tifoni and Maryam Al-Sarraj, with Dalal Al-Masqati and Noor Hassan securing second place.
On his part, Mr. Hussein Maqseed Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee and Deputy Chairman of the Kuwait Scouts Association, stated: 'We are extremely proud of the tremendous success of the inaugural International Padel Tournament, which reflects our commitment to elevating the sports sector. The tournament showcased fair competition among athletes from various Gulf and Arab countries, in line with the values and principles of the Scout Movement. We deeply appreciate Burgan Bank’s sponsorship of this event and its ongoing support for sports and youth, which played a key role in the tournament’s success and the achievement of its objectives.'
