Hosts two world-class exhibitions during the “Italian Week’’ in Kuwait Kuwait- 20 November 2018: To mark the third edition of the Italian Week in Kuwait, Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre will host two world-class exhibitions titled Drive In and The Shapes of Water. The month-long exhibitions are in partnership with the Italian Embassy. Drive In is a gateway into the work of acclaimed Italian artist Marco Casentini. It explores the interplay between memory and space, and allows visitors to share the artist’s feelings as he retraces his travels around the world. Since August 2017, this touring exhibition has moved from one famous hall to the next before arriving in Kuwait, which marks its final stop. ‘The Shapes of Water’ exhibition addresses the importance of water and its significance in worldwide sustainability. It offers visitors design samples from the Triennial Design Museum in Milan and some other samples produced by students from the Department of Architecture at Kuwait University. The touring exhibition has visited a number of GCC countries before coming to Kuwait. Spearheaded by the Fine Arts Centre, both exhibitions will open their doors to visitors between 21 November- 22 December 2018, and will be located in the temporary exhibition gallery at the Science and Technology Museum. The Fine Arts Centre is part of Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre, and was designed to create world-class programmes and workshops featuring accomplished local and international artists to empower Kuwaiti youth and triger their interest in the creative sector.
