Kuwait, 19 June 2023: Kuwait International Bank (KIB) announced that Basil Al-Suwaidan, General Manager of the Information Security, Privacy and Anti-Fraud Department, recently received the Cyber Sentinels CISO Award 2023 during the 7th GCC Security Symposium, held in partnership with the UAE Cyber Security Council. He was recognized for his active role and continuous efforts toward implementing the Bank’s information security strategy, which aims to keep abreast of the latest progress and developments in the security applications field to protect customer data and information at the highest levels. Al-Suwaidan was presented with this distinguished award on behalf of KIB during a big ceremony attended by several notable figures and representatives of regional institutions in Dubai. On this occasion, Al-Suwaidan expressed his pride and delight at receiving this prestigious award, saying: “This award exemplifies KIB’s continuous excellence in regularly adopting and developing banking security policies since its very beginning and adhering to international standards of information security, as well as exerting relentless efforts to continue applying the best security measures across all our transactions through a comprehensive approach that guarantees absolute privacy of banking information.” He added that the accolade is a testament to the forefront position of the Information Security Department at KIB and reaffirms the Bank's success in elevating the experience of its customers and meeting their aspirations for a secure and confidential banking service.
It serves to note that KIB recently received the ISO 27001:2013 Information Security Management System certification for the 9th year consecutively, which determines the level of efficiency of the security systems adopted by the Bank in all its services and sectors and the level of awareness among employees about the importance of ensuring confidentiality and privacy of administrative and customer data for a fully secure banking experience.
