Burgan Bank Discusses Working Parents' Health and Wellness as Part of its Burgan Talk Program

In extension to its efforts for upholding a positive and healthy work environment

Kuwait, 4 July 2023 :  Burgan Bank recently hosted an event in its series of Burgan Talks. This latest event was dedicated to the working parents among the Burgan staff, focusing on their mental, physical, emotional, and financial health. 

Ms. Fatima Al Shatti, a speech pathologist and consultant, along with Ms. Reem Al Sabbagh, a certified behavior analyst, presented Burgan talk to a group of 40 staff members.

Proving feedback on the most recent effective discussion, Ms. Zahra Boarki, Manager of Skills Development at Burgan Bank, said: “Since our employees are the Bank’s top priority, we are adamant about creating a healthy culture and a positive work environment that enables our staff to excel professionally without jeopardizing their wellbeing. To this end, Burgan Bank continues to host different events and initiatives that address the staff’s unique challenges and needs.”
Understanding how challenging it can be to balance one’s responsibilities as an employee at the workplace and a parent at home, the Burgan Talk discussed ways in which staff members can build strategies for self-care and resilience as working parents. Building on this topic, Al-Shatti elaborated on how employees can thrive simultaneously as parents and employees. 

She provided an explanation of common concepts like the guilt experienced by working parents, offering effective strategies to reduce and mitigate its occurrence and impact.

In addition, Al-Shatti commented on her participation in the Burgan Talks series, saying: “I am delighted to have been part of Burgan Bank’s wonderful initiative that strives to provide mothers and fathers with a supportive environment where they feel empowered to reach their full potential as employees and parents.
