In continuation of its inspiring series of talks Kuwait, 18 April 2023: Following its successful launch in September 2022, Burgan Bank hosted its second Burgan Talk earlier this month, featuring Ms. Sara Al-Sayegh, one of the Bank’s most aspiring talents in its Ro2ya development program. The Burgan Talk initiative is one of the Bank’s numerous efforts dedicated to motivating and inspiring its staff to reach for their own best and develop their own personal skills.
Addressing the turnout of 50 staff members, Al-Sayegh chose to share her story as a storm chaser - a hobby that comes with its unique challenges and rewards, and is made even more challenging by its scarcity of female participation. In a bid to spread the inspiration far and wide, the talk was hosted at the Bank’s head office and live-streamed on Instagram.
“Women are now more encouraged to participate in diverse professions, sports, and hobbies than ever before,” said Al-Sayegh in her Burgan Talk. “This represents a huge opportunity for Kuwait to grow and prosper as a society, an economy, and a nation; because every woman brings with her a unique perspective and invaluable input that holds the key to a better tomorrow.”
Resonating Al-Sayegh’s words, Mr. Bashar Al-Qattan, Senior Manager - Talent Empowerment at Burgan Bank, said: “We at Burgan champion diversity and empowerment as core values of our culture. Among the many channels that we’ve devised at Burgan Bank to spread the message of inclusion, we take a lot of pride in the Burgan Talks, which allows us to feature many aspiring and inspiring figures from within our vast community. We led the program with Bibi Al-Khudari’s massively successful talk, and today, we continue spreading inspiration with our very own Sara Al-Sayegh.”
“It is no matter of coincidence that these inspiring women were chosen as the program’s torchbearers; in fact, it stands witness to our firm belief in women’s unlimited capacity for positive, innovative, and daring change in society. With these talks, among other efforts, we confirm our support of Kuwait’s women leaders,” added Al-Qattan.
