Kuwait, 10 March 2025: Kuwait International Bank (KIB) announced the conclusion of its silver sponsorship of the 4th edition of the Kuwait Sustainability Event (KSE), reaffirming its commitment to sustainability, financial literacy, and innovation. The event, which took place in mid-February in Murouj, was themed 'Sustainability in Action' and served as a platform to showcase groundbreaking ideas, promote sustainable development, and encourage a greener future. The sponsorship came as part of KIB’s deep commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.
Commenting on the occasion, Nawaf Najia, Executive Manager of ESG & Sustainability at KIB, highlighted the Bank’s strategic vision, stating: “Sustainability is not an option, but a responsibility. At KIB, we believe that financial growth and environmental consciousness go hand in hand. Financial institutions must play a vital role in fostering environmental responsibility. Through platforms like KSE, we aim to engage with stakeholders, drive meaningful discussions, and inspire action that extends beyond the banking sector. KIB is not just a partner in the nation’s economic growth, but in a greener, more responsible future for Kuwait.”
Najia also added that “Innovation is at the heart of sustainability. Through digital offerings and innovative solutions, KIB is contributing to transforming the financial sector in the local market with tools that benefit both people and the planet.”
As part of its engagement at KSE 2025, KIB set up a dedicated booth designed to present its innovative products, services, and solutions, as well as showcase its sustainability-driven initiatives. In addition, the Bank continued its mission of educating customers about their financial and banking rights and responsibilities, and spreading financial awareness, in line with its commitment to the national “Let’s Be Aware” (Diraya) financial literacy campaign. The Bank also aimed to leverage networking opportunities to foster collaborations that could further advance Kuwait’s sustainability agenda.
Throughout the three-day expo, businesses, environmental advocates, policymakers, students, and the general public gathered together for a diverse lineup of activities. These included exhibitions featuring cutting-edge sustainability projects, interactive workshops providing hands-on sustainability knowledge, and panel discussions led by industry leaders addressing crucial environmental topics.
KIB’s sponsorship and participation in events such as KSE 2025 highlight its role an important financial partner committed to promoting sustainable banking, environmental responsibility, financial literacy, and innovation, all in line with its main slogan “Bank for Life”.
