In a new testament to its committed and inclusive human capital development strategy
Kuwait, 15 May 2024: Following a series of dedicated efforts aimed at encouraging employees’ holistic development and growth, Burgan Bank announced the launch of “Burgan Lean in Circle for Women Empowerment”, the circle explores and addresses all challenges faced by women in the workplace, diminishing any obstacles that slow down their professional or personal growth. This initiative is part of Burgan’s expansive human capital development strategy and its commitment to remaining a top employer of choice in the Kuwaiti banking and financial market.
“At Burgan Bank, we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed, and the ‘Burgan Lean in Circle’ is a testament to that commitment,” said Mrs. Fatma Ahmad, Acting Senior Manager – Learning and Development at Burgan Bank, in light of the new initiative’s launch. “On our mission to empower the women of our community, beginning with our staff, it is vital to create a safe space where all women are free to express themselves and are heard loud and clear. Not only does the ‘Burgan Lean in Circle’ allow us to get valuable insights about the gaps that need bridging in our female employees’ work experience, but it also fosters empathy and connectedness among our community members, reminding them that they are not alone in their struggles and that together we strive.”
The “Burgan Lean in Circle” journey begins with a message that is sent out to all female Burgan employees, inviting them to join the initiative and benefit from its monthly meet-ups, workshops, mentorship programs, and networking events, through which participants are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in their careers and beyond. The women empowerment initiative has several vital topics on its agenda, such as the challenges of navigating career advancement opportunities as well as balancing work and family responsibilities, among many others.
“We firmly believe that empowered women empower women, and by enabling and supporting the women of Burgan to speak up and own their progress, we are effectively planting seeds of empowerment that will eventually blossom across our society,” added Mrs. Fatma.
It serves to note that Burgan Bank continues to offer and develop one of the most dynamic staff development programs, as per its comprehensive human capital development strategy, which aims at contributing to the overall advancement of Kuwait’s pool of professional talents. In recognition of its unwavering efforts, Burgan was the first Bank in Kuwait to receive the Great Place to Work® certification as well as the Brandon Hall Human Capital Management (HCM) Excellence Silver Award and the GCC Excellence Award in the Recruitment and Development of Nationals from the Council of Ministers of Labor and Council of Ministers of Social Affairs in the GCC States Executive Bureau.
