- Engaging students in hands-on activities that promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices
Kuwait, 02 November 2026: As part of its continued commitment to sustainability and community engagement, Burgan Bank organized a collaborative planting activity with students from the American United School (AUS) in celebration of Kuwait Green Week, a nationwide environmental event. Building on the Bank's annual partnership with AUS and bringing the spirit of sustainability to life, the initiative aimed to nurture a deeper connection with nature among students from an early age, while encouraging them to adopt positive practices that contribute to the preservation of Kuwait's natural environment.
Held on the school premises, the activity saw students and teachers plant seedlings, flowers, and a variety of greenery, offering them a practical opportunity to learn about the importance of plants and green spaces in preserving the environment. In addition to enhancing the school’s surroundings, the activity encouraged students to recognize the positive impact of their individual actions and develop a greater sense of environmental responsibility.
Commenting on the occasion, Hessa Hussain Al-Najadah, Senior Manager – Media Relations and CSR at Burgan Bank, said: “At Burgan Bank, we believe that fostering environmental awareness among younger generations begins with providing opportunities for practical learning. Through this activity, we sought to help students understand the importance of planting and preserving green spaces, while encouraging them to take an active role in protecting the environment. We hope this experience inspires positive everyday habits and encourages students to share what they have learned with their families and communities.”
Al-Najadah added: “Our continued collaboration with educational institutions such as the American United School (AUS) reflects our commitment to providing younger generations with educational experiences that allow them to translate knowledge into meaningful action. Such partnerships play an important role in supporting education and nurturing a sense of participation and responsibility among students. We remain dedicated to supporting national sustainability efforts and contributing to a more prosperous future for Kuwait.”
