Range of activities from social to recreational and practical skill training for the 50+ age group Kuwait City, Kuwait - 17 February, 2019: Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre is pleased to announce its newest program, ‘Sanad’, dedicated entirely to those aged 50+. With the aim of empowering senior citizens, ‘Sanad’ will combine popular health-based activities and arts-based workshops to promote active lifestyles and lifelong learning. ‘Sanad’ falls under Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre’s educational initiative umbrella that presents transformational learning experiences for different audiences and age groups in Kuwait. Encouraging self-care and preventing social isolation, ‘Sanad’ constitutes recreational and practical skill training for senior citizens within an inclusive and community-driven culture. Designed to fulfil a core objective of the Centre, ‘Sanad’ reaches out to an important demographic, providing positive social interactions, physical and mental exercises and an opportunity for senior citizens to lead more meaningful lives. The program will run from Feburary to May 2019 wherein the workshops will include Yoga sessions by Daratma and diverse categories such as calligraphy, art journaling, and monoprinting by Yadawi. Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre is one the many projects developed by the Amiri Diwan to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and promote critical, creative, and interpretive thinking within Kuwaiti society through world-class exhibitions and educational public programmes.
