The Bank aims, among other goals, to empower women, end all forms of violence against them, and create an overarching positive change within Kuwait’s society. This initiative also aims at aiding nations worldwide in their pursuit of achieving women-related SDGs which entail her empowerment and reinforcement of her rights and place in society, in addition to raising awareness on her vital role in the development process.

Commenting on the Bank’s participation in this campaign, Mrs. Kholoud Al-Feeli, Group Head – Corporate Communications at the Bank, said: “Burgan Bank has long since been a supporter of women’s rights, and among the first Kuwaiti institutions to sign on for the UN’s Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEP), calling for everyone to stand up against and curbing all forms of violence and discrimination against women. Our participation in this campaign is a testament to our strategic commitment to social responsibility and the reinforcement of societal welfare, in addition to the empowerment of women as an essential partner in the advancement of society.”

Al-Feeli further noted that: “At Burgan Bank, we always dedicate efforts to reinforcing and developing the role women play in society, while raising awareness of their causes. We constantly seek to offer women our full support in hopes of building a more sustainable future which can only be achieved through securing equal opportunities that guarantee women’s advancement. To instill these values, we begin by applying them within our institution and its culture, which can be seen in the equal opportunities and luxuries that all staff can enjoy fairly and without discrimination.”
Burgan Bank continues to support international human rights initiatives and campaigns as part of its comprehensive social responsibility program. It also takes great interest in supporting all development efforts in Kuwait, confirming its uninterrupted reinforcement of all stakeholders’ contributions to development, which ultimately benefits the Kuwaiti society at large.
